Next-generation CoDM experience
Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Mobile is a free-to-play action game from Activision Publishing, Inc. As the next entry in the long-running Call of Duty franchise, this is a full battle royale experience intended to run in parallel with other CoD games. This is a toe-to-toe alternative to Call of Duty: Mobile: same platform, but different experiences.
One of the revolutionary features of Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Mobile is its Shared Progression. This keeps your battle pass progression and friends list synchronized with other games on other platforms, specifically Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty®: Warzone™ 2.0.
Fight against real-world players
To start, Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Mobile heavily focuses on its battle royale gameplay. With its cross-platform support, expect to always queue up for battle royale games of up to 120 players. In terms of hyping up players, it brings the players back to Verdansk and Rebirth Island, the fan-favorite map that has been a staple for most CoD games. These elements immediately make it familiar and intuitive for CoD players. As a AAA title for mobile, expect a couple of issues with this game.
For starters, it has an unusually high average skill level. Over the years, the franchise has amassed a solid player base. Expect skilled players on these servers. Moreover, eliminated solo players get a second chance, thanks to the Gulag. There, players engage in a vicious 1v1 gunfight against their opponent, and the victor will be redeployed to the battlefield. Also, while the game’s customization allows for different play styles, it retains the overpowered weapons and loadouts, which can turn the tables at once.
Season 4: Reloaded and Beavis & Butt-Head update
Season 4: Reloaded introduces a cel-shaded Rebirth Island, giving familiar areas a distinct animated look. You can call in a Care Package for support, potentially getting a Hand Cannon or Door Barricade. The Loot Master Perk helps you scavenge faster, and the Search & Destroy Contract offers a fresh objective. New modes like Havoc Royale and Resurgence Ranked are also available.
The update introduces new weapons like the Olympia Special shotgun and the Pickaxe Melee, earnable through the Beavis & Butt-Head event. You can also get new weapon attachments like the SVD Full Auto Mod. The solo playlist update is notable, with Casual Solos proving more popular than standard Solos due to improved matchmaking and a more welcoming experience for its players.
While new features like Care Packages and Loot Master offer fresh tactical options, and cel-shaded Rebirth Island provides a unique visual twist, the rapid introduction of mechanics and continuous rebalancing can be a lot. However, improving accessibility and diversifying gameplay modes is a positive step, offering you more ways to enjoy the game and shop purchases with Beavis & Butt-Head themed items as well.
A top-tier shooting game
Overall, Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Mobile delivers as promised. It’s a great alternative to the earlier CoDM that remains distinct from its sister entry. While the game has multiplayer, this mode leaves room for loadout or weapon experimentation. Nevertheless, it is poised to bring the waning battle royale subgenre back to the forefront. With vehicles, beloved maps, intuitive controls, and wide customization options for weapon loadouts, this game is definitely worth checking out.
